Chemical Detection and Identification

Precision Chemical Analysis, when and where you need it...the chem-ID is a parts-per-billion gas analyzer that characterizes chemicals using two-dimensional gas chromatography. The chemical signatures of gases and out-gassing liquids and solids are measured and recorded in the field. Each chemical signature contains information on the individual compounds and concentrations of the chemicals present in the sample. Because the chem-ID is rugged, in can be used in most locations and under most harsh conditions.  Learn more here!

The Chameleon is the most innovative hazardous chemical detection device on the market today! Morphix Technologies has revolutionized simple color change technology and made it rugged to meet the needs of First Responders and military personnel under real-life conditions. The Chameleon easily attaches to the forearm for hands-free detection of gases and vapors in the air - no need for a liquid sample. The design also eliminates interferences from smoke or particulates. The Chameleon armband is field-configurable, allowing you to decide which chemical threats you need to detect. The Chameleon armband is designed for easy on/off to fit any forearm; even over turn-out gear. It can be used for one cassette or as many as ten.  Click here for specifications.  Also available for Meth Lab applications!

The Basic Hazard Classification Kit is designed to provide first responders a rapid and easy method to determine if unknown or suspicious materials present a possible chemical, radiological or biological hazard to the responder, population or surrounding environment. The procedure is not designed to identify the substance, but to determine if a possible hazard may exist. The kit may be used by any personnel with basic HazMat training skills. The kit can be used in any situation where hazardous materials may be of concern.  These kits have been used by first responders for over ten years on such incidents as:

  • Abandoned containers or drums

  • Illegal drug operations

  • Chemical inventories

  • Household chemical cleanups

  • Unknown powders

  • Suspicious materials

  • Confirm labeling

  • Roadside dump sites

  • Determine bulking compatibilities

  • Check decon and PPE compatibility
